How to choose the projector brightness standard?Ⅰ

2022-09-21
At present, there are two types of markings For Projector brightness standards in the international market, ANSI lumens and ISO lumens. When purchasing projectors, merchants will also use the brightness values of the products as comparison data to introduce the advantages of each product. But there may be information withholding when introducing ANSI lumens and ISO lumens. At this time, if you do not know the specific difference between the two, the probability of being pitted is high.

ANSI lumens and ISO lumens are the projector brightness standards specified by two different associations of organizations.
A method developed by the American National Standards Institute for measuring the luminous flux of projectors. According to the "nine-point" measurement method, the distance between the projector and the screen: 2.4 meters, the screen is 60 inches, use a light meter to measure the illuminance of each point on the nine intersection points of the "field" shape of the screen, multiply the area, and get the projection The brightness of the 9 points of the screen; the average value of the brightness of the 9 points is ANSI lumens.

ISO lumens is a variety of brightness measurement standards for projectors stipulated by the International Organization for Standardization; it is an international standard. The ISO21118:2012 document specifies various standards for projectors, including projector brightness detection standards and technical terms. , noise measurement, etc., are the standard documents for more professional projector production and testing in the world.

Summary: ANSI only stipulates the size of the measurement screen of "60 inches", but ignores the projection distance of projectors with different focal lengths, and ignores the air loss. And "ISO" takes these factors into account. Compared with ISO lumens, the measurement requirements of ANSI lumens are slightly lower, so from a professional point of view, ISO lumens is more scientific and more valuable.
