What indicators should you pay attention to when choosing a living room projector?

2022-10-17
The projectors on the market have different prices, mixed with fish and dragons, and the parameters inside are also dazzling. Not only the owners, but many designers are confused. If the designers want to understand, it is actually very simple, as long as they avoid the picture Large, poor picture quality, low brightness, then it is necessary to grasp these core indicators.

1. Light source
Type and brightness of light source: Projector light sources generally include LED light sources, high-pressure pump bulbs, laser light sources and xenon lamps.
LED light source: Its advantage is that it can be used for a long time, but the disadvantage is also obvious, that is, the brightness is very low, so it can only be used at night or in a darker environment.
High-pressure pump light source: The brightness is very high, so it has a strong heating phenomenon, so it needs to be equipped with a strong heat dissipation device, resulting in a large wind noise. In addition, its service life is relatively short.
Xenon light source: high brightness, short life and expensive.
Laser light source: At the same time, it meets the two advantages of long service life and high brightness. It is an ideal choice For Projector light source.
The brightness of the light source of the projector is usually expressed in "ANSI lumens". The higher the value, the brighter the brightness. Generally, household projectors are usually selected with a brightness of at least 2000 ANSI lumens to ensure that no matter whether it is night or bright during the day, All can be high-definition and high-brightness picture experience and effects.
In addition, light source lumens ≠ ANJI lumens, light source lumens is the initial brightness without any attenuation, and ANSI lumens is the final actual brightness value.

2. Chip
Decide on resolution and quality
Most of the projectors used in home use are DLP display technology, which has to mention the DMD chip, which is the core of DLP display technology. Different projectors on the market have different resolutions and picture quality, mainly depending on the size of the DMD chip. Common sizes of DMD chips are: 0.23, 0.33, 0.47 and 0.65 (unit: inches), of which 0.33 and 0.47 DMD are very common. The larger the chip size, the higher the resolution and the better the picture quality. Generally, the resolution of 0.33 is 720P, and the resolution of 0.47 is 1080P.

3. Lens
Determines the distance between the projector and the screen
The main function of the lens is to project and enlarge the picture. The best material is glass lens. When it comes to the lens, we have to mention the focal length. Different projectors have different focal lengths. They are generally divided into general focal lengths, short focal lengths and ultra-short focal lengths. Three, the projection ratios between them are different. For example, the same distance is 2m. The general focal length projects an 80-inch screen size, while the short focal length can project a 100-inch size, and the ultra-short focal length can be achieved with only 40cm. 100 inches in size.
The commonly used throw ratio is 1.2:1. The smaller the throw ratio, the larger the picture size can be transmitted at the smaller distance.
